1Install

Mac: unzip, drag WhaGrOU into Applications. First launch: right-click → Open → Open.
Windows: run WhaGrOU-…-setup.exe. If SmartScreen appears: More info → Run anyway.

2Link your WhatsApp

Settings → WhatsApp → Open / Scan QR, scan with your phone. It links once and stays linked.

3Connect your AI

With a Claude subscription (free to run): install Claude Code (Windows: PowerShell → irm https://claude.ai/install.ps1 | iex), open Terminal, run claude, sign in. Then in WhaGrOU: Settings → AI → Max subscription → Test CLI.

Or with an API key: paste your Anthropic key → Save → Test.

4Add your WhatsApp history

Recent chats come in by themselves: click Refresh chat list, then Refresh last 7 days (both in step 2’s screen).

For older history, use Import old data: your full phone backup (msgstore.db.crypt15 + 64-digit key), a single chat’s Export Chat .txt, or a contacts CSV.

5Let it learn, then go

Click Build from full history once — it reads your chats and learns who everyone is (runs in the background, uses the cheap model). Then check Today for suggested reconnections.
